Associate Attorney - Complex Civil Litigation

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney for complex civil litigation in Greenbelt, MD. This role offers the chance to gain significant litigation experience in a fast-paced environment, handling cases such as civil rights, class actions, and commercial litigation.

Duties

• Manage day-to-day civil litigation cases.
• Conduct complex legal analysis, research, and writing.
• Perform case intake and evaluation.
• Oversee and execute all aspects of discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in settlement conferences and discussions.
• Engage in trial work in Maryland and DC state and federal courts.
• Handle appeals in Maryland state and federal courts.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of complex civil litigation experience in Maryland courts.
• Member in good standing of the Maryland Bar.
• Member in good standing of the DC Bar or eligible to waive in immediately.
• Prior judicial clerkship preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar membership in Maryland and DC.
