Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney, Litigation in Tukwila, WA. This full-time, fully remote position requires a professional with critical thinking skills to handle various aspects of the legal process related to secured lending, including civil litigation, title litigation, and potential bankruptcy matters. The role demands a commitment to teamwork, respect, and independent work, ensuring high-quality work products and excellent client experiences.

Duties

  • Conduct initial intake and analysis on files, generating strategy and budget within 24 hours.
  • Draft civil litigation documents, including discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Review chain of title, pleadings, and foreclosure documents.
  • Make court appearances across Washington and/or Oregon, providing same-day client updates.
  • Field questions from staff and assist in a supportive manner.
  • Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, and correspondence for compliance purposes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Active membership in the WA and/or OR State Bar, in good standing.
  • 2+ years of related experience in the mortgage area preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the WA and/or OR State Bar.

Skills

  • Ability to work remotely as efficiently as in-office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools like WestLaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
