Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Elder Abuse Attorney in California to provide direct legal services and advocacy for older and dependent adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact the lives of seniors and dependent adults by ensuring their safety, autonomy, and access to justice.

Duties

  • Provide client-centered, trauma-informed representation in nursing home abuse and neglect cases.
  • Handle cases involving injuries, neglect, financial exploitation, and wrongful death in care facilities.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, investigators, and social service agencies to build strong cases.
  • Participate in strategy sessions, case reviews, and firm meetings.
  • Mentor or collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and co-counsel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active member of the CA Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of elder abuse attorney experience, including litigation.
  • Experience or strong interest in elder law, conservatorships, or protective proceedings.
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in case management systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially in Spanish) highly desirable.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active CA Bar membership.
