Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Guardianship and Probate Attorney to join their team in Frisco, TX. The ideal candidate will be passionate about guardianship and probate law and eager to develop a thriving practice that includes estate planning within an established family law firm.

Duties

  • Handle guardianship and probate matters from start to finish, including both uncontested and contested cases.
  • Represent clients in contested guardianship and probate litigation with firm support and resources.
  • Advise clients on estate administration, guardianship proceedings, and planning strategies.
  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and related instruments.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, applications, and orders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, courts, and referral sources.
  • Participate in networking and business development efforts to grow the practice.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in guardianship, probate, and/or estate planning.
  • Experience with contested guardianship or probate litigation, or motivation to develop those skills.
  • Working knowledge of estate planning.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Initiative and motivation to contribute to practice growth.
  • Professionalism and ability to build trust with clients.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Initiative and motivation to contribute to practice growth.
