Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Senior Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal representation to clients in various stages of litigation, with a focus on family law cases. They will oversee case strategy, represent clients in hearings and trials, and provide legal advice and guidance.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct strategy meetings with clients at the start of representation.
  • Advise clients on legal options and recommend courses of action for litigation or settlement.
  • Review and respond to correspondence from clients and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare clients for hearings and depositions.
  • Develop and oversee case strategies, particularly for complex cases.
  • Represent clients in litigation proceedings and hearings.
  • Serve as first chair in Trials when required.

Requirements:

  • Licensed by the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law.
  • Courtroom experience with trial advocacy training or participation in trial competitions.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
