Senior Associate Attorney - Litigation (Insurance Defense)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its office in Los Angeles, California. The role involves working within the Insurance Services and Litigation Practice Groups, focusing on complex insurance coverage disputes and defense litigation. The position offers a hybrid work environment in El Segundo, providing opportunities to collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on multifaceted insurance defense matters.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and appellate briefs.
• Communicate with clients, claims adjusters, and witnesses; provide updates and strategic advice.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Defend clients in claims involving personal injury, property damage, medical malpractice, construction, transportation, and product liability.
• Defend cases in civil litigation and binding arbitration in state and federal court.
• Attend court hearings and oral arguments both remotely and in-person.
• Prepare for and mediate cases and/or settlement conferences.

Requirements

• Active bar license in California.
• 3-7 years of litigation and/or civil litigation experience in state or federal court.
• Experience with trial preparation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional writing, organizational, and advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active California Bar License.
