Job Overview

A law firm seeks a thoughtful and motivated Associate Attorney to join their team in Arlington, MA. This role is ideal for a newly licensed attorney eager to gain hands-on experience in immigration law and other practice areas within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Meet with clients to gather facts and explain legal processes.
  • Provide regular case updates and manage client expectations.
  • Draft and review immigration applications and petitions.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for USCIS, EOIR, and consular filings.
  • Represent clients in hearings under supervision.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and responses for USCIS and EOIR.
  • Conduct legal research on immigration law and policy developments.
  • Review paralegal and legal assistant work for accuracy.
  • Support attorneys in family law and estate planning matters.
  • Manage individual caseloads and track deadlines.

Requirements

  • JD degree and admission to at least one state bar.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset with a client-centered approach.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to at least one state bar.

Skills

  • Courtroom experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with online court filing systems and case management platforms.
  • Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese strongly preferred.
