Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Southfield, MI. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in personal injury protection (PIP) litigation, representing plaintiffs and managing a high-volume caseload. This full-time, exempt position requires a strong background in negotiating settlements and litigating cases through trial.

Duties

  • Represent clients in PIP-related litigation from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Attend and conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Evaluate case value and develop tailored litigation strategies.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, and insurance companies.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff for efficient case management.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Michigan, in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience handling PIP plaintiff cases.
  • Strong knowledge of state-specific PIP laws and procedures.
  • Excellent litigation, negotiation, and trial skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Michigan.

Skills

  • Experience with legal case management software.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and billing practices.
