Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. This position is ideal for an attorney with 5 to 7 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience, capable of managing cases independently while collaborating within a team-oriented environment. The role involves handling cases from intake through resolution, ensuring exceptional client advocacy throughout the litigation process.

Duties

  • Manage personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial.
  • Evaluate claims, assess liability and damages, and develop case strategy.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and factual analysis related to personal injury matters.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, experts, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations and hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable resolutions on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the firm's case management system.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and good standing membership with the Illinois State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff-side preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to client service and professional excellence.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the Illinois State Bar.
