Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.

  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts, preparing thorough questions and summarizing findings.

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings under the supervision of senior counsel.

  • Collaborate with co-counsel and support staff to develop case strategy, identify critical evidence, and track deadlines.

  • Participate in client consultations, gathering factual information, and advising on case progress.

  • Assist in the preparation of expert reports, including analysis of data and coordination with retained experts.

  • Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations, offering substantive input and facilitating communication between stakeholders.

  • Research complex areas of law related to collective redress, including emerging precedent and procedural developments.

  • Help prepare trial exhibits, witness outlines, and trial binders; support trial logistics as needed.

  • Monitor case budgets and calendars to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to internal timetables.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience handling plaintiff-side collective litigation or related large-scale tort matters.

  • Proven track record conducting depositions, drafting substantive motions, and managing discovery in complex, multi-defendant matters.

  • Admission to the Florida Bar (or eligibility to sit for the next exam) and good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted.

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple matters simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to distill intricate legal issues into clear, persuasive arguments.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Undergraduate degree in any discipline, showing evidence of strong analytical and writing abilities.

Certifications & Licenses

  • Membership in the Florida Bar.

  • Any additional bar admissions (e.g., federal district courts) are a plus.

  • Continuing legal education certificates in litigation, e-discovery, or trial advocacy will be viewed favorably.
