Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Senior Associate to join its dynamic litigation team specializing in consumer, healthcare, and ERISA class actions. This remote position requires a candidate with a passion for mission-driven work and at least five years of litigation experience. The role involves managing a caseload of complex class actions, including those related to emerging technologies, AI, and data privacy.

Duties

  • Evaluate new cases and prepare case proposals.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Draft motions and briefs in file-ready form.
  • Oversee the filing process for motions and briefs.
  • Prepare and serve stipulations, discovery letters, and proposed orders.
  • Correspond with co-counsel, opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients.
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and take or defend depositions.
  • Attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings.
  • Lead or participate in team and firm meetings.
  • Adhere to all internal and court-mandated deadlines.
  • Perform administrative duties related to legal practice.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of litigation experience.
  • CA Bar Admission required; additional jurisdictions like NY or IL are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • CA bar exam if licensed in other states.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California Bar.
