Job Overview

A respected South Dakota law firm is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its team in Sioux Falls. This position offers the opportunity to work across a variety of legal practice areas including litigation, family law, estate planning, business transactions, and criminal defense. The ideal candidate will be a licensed South Dakota attorney eager to build a customized legal practice in collaboration with a team of experienced partners.

Location

  • Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Duties

  • Represent clients in a broad range of legal matters including civil litigation, family law, estate planning, and business law

  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and estate planning materials

  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies

  • Participate in client meetings, court appearances, hearings, and negotiations

  • Collaborate with partners and staff to develop a personalized legal practice

  • Maintain accurate client records and case files

Requirements

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage cases independently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical thinker with excellent legal research capabilities

  • Willingness to practice across multiple areas of law

  • Professional demeanor and ability to build strong client relationships

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Active and in good standing with the South Dakota State Bar
