Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join their team in Sugar Land, Texas. The firm specializes in first- and third-party insurance defense, handling a variety of personal injury, property damage, and breach of contract claims. Duties

  • Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery and develop strategic discovery plans.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with partners.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely case status reports.
  • Maintain accurate billing entries and comply with case management requirements.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license and eligibility to practice law in Texas.
  • 3-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
