Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Real Estate Attorney in Houston, Texas, specializing in real estate development and master planned communities. This position is ideal for an experienced attorney capable of independently managing complex transactions and providing strategic legal guidance throughout development projects.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate development agreements, plats, and entitlement documents.
  • Prepare and amend restrictive covenants for various types of developments.
  • Draft and revise governing documents for master planned communities, including declarations, bylaws, and policies.
  • Form and advise nonprofit and property owners' associations, including preparing organizational and governance documents.
  • Provide legal counsel to developers across all phases of real estate projects.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in real estate law.
  • Direct experience with real estate development and master planned communities.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a law firm or working with developers preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
