Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Health Care Law Attorney to join its office in Holland, Michigan. This role is best suited for attorneys with a strong background in business law and at least two additional areas of health care law. The position offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary legal team representing a wide array of clients across the health care industry, including hospitals, physician groups, home health agencies, hospices, managed care organizations, health IT firms, and nonprofit entities.

Location:

  • Holland, MI

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate provider contracts with various healthcare entities (e.g., physicians, hospitals, hospices, home care providers, pharmacies, and DME suppliers)

  • Counsel clients on health care regulatory compliance matters, including HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and corporate practice of medicine restrictions

  • Assist with healthcare business transactions, including changes of ownership and information related to Medicare

  • Represent clients in healthcare licensing investigations, actions, and administrative proceedings

  • Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys focused on transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters within the healthcare space

  • Deliver legal presentations and advice to healthcare organizations, trade groups, and community stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing health care law

  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following:

    • Provider contracting

    • Regulatory compliance

    • Business transactions

    • Healthcare licensing actions

  • Ability to manage a diverse workload independently and within a team environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Michigan

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and presentation abilities

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to generate or maintain client relationships is a plus
