A law firm located in Norfolk is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience. The candidate will provide legal counsel to new and existing clients while learning from seasoned attorneys. Strong legal research and writing skills are essential for this role. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for performing legal research, reviewing and drafting documents, and ensuring that all legal matters are handled professionally and efficiently. The candidate will work closely with senior litigation and transactional attorneys to address the various legal needs of firm clients.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to new and existing clients under the guidance of seasoned attorneys
  • Perform legal research and analysis on various legal issues
  • Review and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts
  • Assist with case preparation and strategy development
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to address client needs in litigation and transactional matters
  • Ensure that all legal matters are handled in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Prioritize work and allocate resources efficiently
  • Make sound decisions based on legal analysis and client objectives

 

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia
  • 2+ years of legal experience
  • Strong legal knowledge and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
  • Client service orientation and strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
