A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Ellicott City, MD. Duties

  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings, court appearances, depositions, and trials.
  • Draft and prepare legal pleadings and motions on behalf of clients.
  • Advise clients on insurance defense and workers' compensation law.
  • Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements.
  • Assist with preparing marketing materials and participate in marketing events.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in general liability and/or workers' compensation litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland; DC and/or Virginia licensure preferred.
  • Experience with workers' compensation hearings and/or District Court trials.
  • Experience drafting trial pleadings and handling written discovery.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Maryland Bar.
