Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney for its St. Louis, MO office. The role involves handling local and national accounts, with a focus on toxic tort, complex product liability, general liability, and professional liability cases. Admission to practice in Missouri is required, with preference for candidates also admitted to the Illinois bar.

Duties

• Lead asbestos and complex litigation cases, managing discovery, trial preparation, and strategy.
• Oversee a high-profile caseload with autonomy and strategic oversight.
• Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and experts.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and pretrial motions.
• Develop and execute trial strategy in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
• Serve as local counsel, providing in-person support for key litigation matters.
• Train and mentor junior attorneys in litigation and trial tactics.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• 8 - 12 years of litigation experience.
• Admitted to practice in Missouri (secondary admission to Illinois bar preferred).
• Experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Lead experience in plaintiff and expert depositions preferred.
• Capable of independent work.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.
• Strong analytical skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
