Tax Associate

Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Tax Associate in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in complex federal transactional tax matters and be willing to work in Madison or other preferred locations such as Austin, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis, or Washington, D.C.

Duties

• Advise on business entity formations, mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
• Provide guidance on state and local tax matters, including income, franchise, sales, and use tax.
• Collaborate with non-profit and for-profit clients on tax-related issues.

Requirements

• Active bar license in the corresponding state or commitment to obtain one promptly.
• Experience in federal transactional tax matters preferred.
• Experience with state and local tax matters is advantageous.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing.
