Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its Public Finance practice in Omaha. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing their knowledge and skills in transactional matters involving municipal securities for state and local governments, housing developers, nonprofit organizations, and other permitted borrowers. Candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance, or other transactional areas are encouraged to apply.

Duties

  • Research federal and state law, including local bond and real estate law, securities laws, and the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Prepare and review transaction documents, such as trust indentures, bond ordinances, and loan agreements.
  • Prepare and review underwriting documents, including offering documents and purchase agreements.
  • Interact and communicate with clients and other transaction parties.

  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Ability and confidence to work independently and flexibly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education

  • Currently admitted to practice in Nebraska with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted within one year.
  • Strong academic record.

Certifications

  • Active bar license in Nebraska or eligibility for admission within one year.
