Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its civil practice in Mill Creek, Washington. The firm provides comprehensive legal services across various practice areas, including estate planning, probate, elder law, real estate, business, domestic, construction, and general civil litigation. The successful candidate will assist with current overflow and develop a practice in Snohomish County, with cases available immediately upon hire.

Duties

  • Build client base and serve legal needs efficiently and communicatively.
  • Manage cases from inception to completion.
  • Confer with partners for strategy and mentorship regularly.
  • Meet with clients to understand their needs and prepare action plans.
  • Prepare necessary documents for client representation, including court pleadings and contracts.
  • Support partners and other attorneys with court appearances, drafts, and trial preparation.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals.
  • Comply with legal standards and the Rules of Professional Responsibility.
  • Accurately track and record billable time using billing software.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in civil law practice areas or as a judicial clerk.
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing with the WSBA.
  • Established member or willingness to become established in Snohomish County community.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to utilize time-management and billing software effectively.
  • Professional, ethical, courteous, and compassionate demeanor.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State.

Skills
