Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of insurance experience in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate is a proactive and motivated attorney with strong writing skills, capable of independently managing complex insurance coverage litigation matters. This role involves representing domestic and international insurers, focusing on complex insurance coverage analyses and disputes involving bad faith and business interruption claims.

Duties

  • Analyze first-party insurance policies and draft coverage opinions.
  • Assist in federal and state litigation, including declaratory judgment actions.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and mediation statements.
  • Correspond with opposing counsel, clients, and the court.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
  • Draft discovery requests and prepare subpoenas.
  • Review and manage document productions.
  • Take and defend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Assist in locating and managing experts and consultants.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in Texas.
  • Experience in insurance coverage, first-party property, product liability, and premise liability preferred.
  • Litigation experience required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
