Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced family law attorney to join its Goodyear, AZ office. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of substantive Arizona family law experience and be adept at managing a caseload from consultation to resolution. This role requires courtroom confidence, client responsiveness, and the ability to handle a busy practice with professionalism and compassion.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload involving divorce, legal decision-making, parenting time, and related issues.
  • Conduct initial consultations and provide legal analysis and case strategy.
  • Draft and review legal documents including pleadings and motions.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately.
  • Develop case strategies and offer practical legal advice.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys.
  • Stay current on Arizona family law statutes and court rules.
  • Meet reasonable billable-hour expectations.
  • Contribute to firm systems, processes, and client service improvements.

Requirements

  • Active member in good standing of the State Bar of Arizona.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of substantive family law experience.
  • Experience managing family law cases independently.
  • Courtroom experience, including contested hearings and trials.
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent judgment and case strategy development skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Professional and compassionate client communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Arizona.
