Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing practice in the Park Ridge office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 5+ years of experience handling complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. The role involves managing all phases of litigation, from pleadings and discovery to trial and appeals, while working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Location:

  • Park Ridge, IL

Duties:

  • Handle complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Visit dispute sites when required

  • Prepare for and participate in pre-trial, trial, and appellate proceedings

  • Investigate and manage large volumes of documents and digital evidence

  • Conduct legal research and write briefs, memoranda, and correspondence

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and internal legal teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience

  • Prior experience handling all stages of litigation

  • Familiarity with large-scale document review and electronic discovery

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously

  • Strong time management, organization, and client-relations skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic record preferred

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois

  • Must remain in good standing with the Illinois Bar

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
