Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with over three years of experience to join its commercial lending, real estate, and loan workout practice in Boston, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial lending and commercial real estate finance transactions and will enjoy a hybrid work schedule.

Duties

  • Review lender's credit approval requirements and prepare loan documents.
  • Conduct due diligence searches and review results.
  • Review and negotiate lender's title insurance policies for real estate collateral.
  • Arrange proper perfection of lender's security interest in personal property collateral.
  • Negotiate loan documents with borrower's counsel and third parties.
  • Review organizational and authority documents related to transactions.
  • Prepare and negotiate Subordination Non-disturbance and Attornment Agreements.
  • Prepare and review zoning and land use opinions.
  • Prepare and negotiate participation and syndication agreements.
  • Prepare and negotiate intercreditor agreements.
  • Prepare forbearance, loan modification, and settlement documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience in commercial lending, real estate finance transactions, or loan workouts.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts state bar.
  • Experience in affordable housing and community development is an asset.
  • Willingness to participate in client development efforts.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Massachusetts state bar.
