Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic and self-starting individual to serve as an Immigration Attorney in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will demonstrate vision, initiative, and a commitment to excellence in managing an immigration law caseload and supervising paralegals.

Duties

  • Manage an immigration law caseload.
  • Supervise paralegals in the Immigration Department.
  • Prepare and submit filings for USCIS, DOS, and EOIR.
  • Conduct hearings before EOIR.
  • Perform records searches under FOIA and conduct background checks.
  • Provide co-counseling assistance to other attorneys.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients.
  • Review open cases for proper recordkeeping.
  • Participate in departmental meetings.
  • Establish positive relationships with clients and court personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Attorney.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.
  • 1-2 years of relevant legal experience preferred; newly licensed candidates with strong interest in immigration law considered.
  • Experience in USCIS and consular processing cases preferred.
  • Experience in EOIR cases preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Flexible work schedule capability.
  • Ability to handle a diverse docket with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and accountability.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.
