Job Overview:
A top-tier U.S. law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel – Corporate Aviation attorney to join its Business and Transactions practice group. This senior-level position involves advising a global client base—including airlines, high-net-worth individuals, lessors, and financial institutions—on a broad range of corporate aviation transactions. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience independently handling complex aircraft deals, including financing, acquisition, leasing, regulatory compliance, and tax structuring. This recruitment is being conducted on behalf of the hiring law firm.

Location:

  • Anchorage, AK

Duties:

  • Lead and manage aircraft purchase, sale, lease, and finance transactions

  • Provide legal counsel on FAA regulations, aircraft registration, and ownership structuring

  • Advise on federal, state, and local tax issues related to aircraft operations and ownership

  • Draft and negotiate complex aviation-related contracts and agreements

  • Support clients through aircraft customization, completion, and maintenance arrangements

  • Act as principal counsel in transactions involving a wide range of aircraft, from general aviation to VIP-configured Boeing aircraft

  • Represent a diverse clientele, including:

    • U.S. and international airlines

    • Corporate and private aircraft owners

    • Financial institutions, leasing companies, and aviation manufacturers

  • Independently manage client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate aviation law and transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex deals and provide strategic legal guidance independently

  • Deep understanding of FAA compliance, aviation tax issues, and international regulatory frameworks

  • Experience with large aircraft transactions is strongly preferred

  • Active bar admission in the state corresponding to one of the listed office locations

  • A portable book of business or existing client relationships is highly desirable

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • High-level drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis

  • FAA and aviation regulatory compliance

  • Tax structuring for corporate and high-net-worth clients

  • Ability to manage cross-border and multi-party transactions

  • Strong interpersonal and client service orientation

  • Business development and entrepreneurial mindset
