Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with two to four years of experience to join its Litigation and White-Collar practice in Chicago, IL. This role involves working on diverse matters, including criminal and civil litigation, internal and congressional investigations, regulatory enforcement, and corporate compliance. Candidates should have prior law firm experience and a demonstrated interest in these areas.

Duties

  • Assist with preparation for witness interviews, client depositions, and witness testimony.
  • Respond to document requests, discovery requests, and manage document collection and review projects.
  • Analyze strategic case issues and prepare necessary written materials.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft and respond to discovery and dispositive motions, jury instructions, and other motions.
  • Assist with corporate compliance projects and due diligence.
  • Interact regularly with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years' experience in Litigation and White Collar, including internal investigations and enforcement.
  • Outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with sophisticated clients.
  • Membership in the State Bar of the office location or ability to become admitted promptly.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • State Bar membership.
