Junior Antitrust/Competition Associate

Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a junior-level associate with 1 to 4 years of experience to join its Antitrust & Competition practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile merger reviews, regulatory investigations, and litigation against federal and state agencies. The ideal candidate will bring experience or strong interest in handling second request investigations and merger litigation, and may have background with or exposure to agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Location:

Duties:

• Support antitrust counsel in handling complex merger investigations and enforcement actions

• Assist in second request responses and antitrust regulatory strategy during M&A transactions

• Prepare legal memoranda, regulatory filings, pleadings, and correspondence

• Participate in litigation and negotiation matters involving federal or state regulatory agencies

• Conduct legal research related to antitrust law, merger guidelines, and competition policy

• Collaborate with cross-practice teams and advise clients on antitrust risks and compliance

Requirements:

• 1 to 4 years of legal experience in antitrust or competition law

• Experience with second request investigations or merger litigation is highly preferred

• Familiarity with regulatory processes involving the FTC or DOJ is advantageous

• Demonstrated interest in complex transactional and enforcement matters

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and internal teams

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Capacity to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment

• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required
