A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with a strong desire to further develop trial and litigation skills and eventually handle cases as the lead attorney. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of solid commercial litigation experience, with construction litigation experience considered a plus. This role requires significant experience in drafting motions and discovery, handling related hearings with minimal supervision, and demonstrating leadership and client relationship skills.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle complex commercial litigation cases, with the potential to take on lead attorney responsibilities.
  • Draft a wide variety of legal documents including motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Prepare and argue motions, attend hearings, and manage all aspects of litigation.
  • Provide strategic advice and develop case strategies in commercial litigation matters.
  • Participate in business development activities and contribute to client relationship management.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to the firm's litigation and case management processes.
  • Ensure effective time management and meet all deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Handle construction litigation cases as needed, leveraging experience in this area.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of solid commercial litigation experience.
  • Construction litigation experience is a plus.
  • Strong desire to develop trial and litigation skills with the goal of leading cases.
  • Proven ability to draft various types of legal documents and handle related hearings with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, business development acumen, and client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Admission to the California Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong experience in commercial litigation with a proven track record of handling complex cases.
  • Excellent drafting and legal research skills.
  • Ability to manage and argue motions, conduct hearings, and handle discovery effectively.
  • Leadership and client relationship skills, with a focus on business development.
