Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Post Conviction Relief Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law within an established firm in Southern California. The attorney will manage their caseload, engage in client interaction, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties

  • Advise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
  • Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, and early termination of probation.
  • Attend motion hearings and advise clients on strategies post-hearing.
  • Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing.
  • Conduct court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and perform legal research.
  • Analyze probable case outcomes using legal precedents.

Requirements

  • Experience in criminal defense or immigration law.
  • Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California.
