Job Overview

A law firm seeks an energetic Associate Attorney in Amarillo, TX. The ideal candidate is goal-driven, eager to learn, and excels in a team environment. This role involves collaboration with partners, clients, and staff on collection and litigation activities. The firm offers a Professional Development and Mentorship Program, with opportunities for partnership. Only attorneys licensed in Texas will be considered.

Duties

  • Prepare and review suits, engage in motion practice, and manage discovery.
  • Handle a large caseload and conduct substantial trial work in District Courts.
  • Examine titles, including mineral titles, and provide legal opinions to clients.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining current firm clients.
  • Travel locally and attend evening, weekend events, and statewide conferences.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with collection of ad valorem taxes and governmental receivables.
  • Experience with open meetings, public information act, and local government law.
  • Title examination experience, including mineral titles.
  • Bankruptcy experience.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational, interpersonal, and social skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
