General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability and Construction Defect practice group. This position is available in multiple California offices and offers the opportunity to work on complex civil litigation matters involving local and national clients. The role is suited for attorneys with a minimum of three years of relevant experience who are capable of managing a litigation caseload independently. Recruitment is being conducted on behalf of the firm.

Location:

• Walnut Creek, CA

Duties:

• Handle litigation matters involving both local and national accounts throughout California

• Independently manage a full litigation caseload from start to finish

• Conduct and defend depositions, including plaintiffs and expert witnesses

• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial testimony

• Draft and respond to discovery requests and legal pleadings

• Prepare court filings and manage electronic filing procedures

• Participate in trial preparation and provide courtroom support

• Accurately maintain billable hour records

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general liability and/or construction defect litigation

• Strong background in motion practice and deposition work

• Ability to take lead roles in depositions and manage litigation strategy

• Proven ability to work independently and efficiently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active and good standing membership with the California State Bar (required)
