Job Overview
A law firm seeks a patent agent to join its Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high academic achievement, relevant industry experience, and excellent writing and communication skills.

Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering and software-related technologies.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand and protect their intellectual property.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.

 

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

 

Education

  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or physics.

 

Certifications

  • USPTO registration.

 

Skills

  • Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and neural networks.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications technologies, including 5G and 6G.
  • Understanding of autonomous driving and RF circuitry.
  • Proficiency in hardware and communications security, such as encryption and decryption.
