Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Debt Resolution Liaison Attorney for a full-time, remote position based in Southfield, MI. This role focuses on assisting with debt resolution for clients and supporting lead attorneys on the Network Liaison Team. Court appearances are not required.

Duties

  • Provide legal assistance to the debt resolution network, including communication with creditors and managing escalation requests.
  • Prepare and review settlement agreements and other legal documents.
  • Oversee negotiator and paralegal functions, providing coaching on compliance and firm policies.
  • Support liaison network attorneys with case management and workload coverage.
  • Facilitate communications between opposing counsel, creditors, and firm personnel.
  • Address team concerns to ensure client and program success.
  • Manage and facilitate legal training for new hires and assist in creating training modules.
  • Collaborate with management, administrative personnel, and negotiating teams.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Experience in consumer debt defense and/or collections preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong employee management and relation-building skills.
  • Proficient time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other CRMs.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of North Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of legal industry rules and regulations related to collections and debt settlement.
  • Solid knowledge of rules regulating attorney ethics and standards of practice.
