Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Consumer Financial Services, Data, and Technology (CFS+) Practice Group in Los Angeles. This position is ideal for a litigator with 3 to 5 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation, particularly for financial institutions. The role involves managing cases in both federal and state courts and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge legal issues in the fintech and data security sectors.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, California

Duties:

  • Represent financial institutions and technology clients in commercial litigation matters

  • Manage litigation in both federal and California state courts

  • Draft legal pleadings, motions, and discovery-related documents

  • Conduct thorough legal research and case analysis

  • Attend court appearances, mediations, and hearings

  • Advise clients on compliance, data protection, and consumer financial services regulations

  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's national platform on complex litigation matters

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial litigation

  • Experience handling matters for financial institutions preferred

  • Proficiency in litigation procedures and court filings at the state and federal level

  • Strong time management and case-handling skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing of the California State Bar (required)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously

  • Comfort working independently and within a team

  • Familiarity with financial services regulations and data privacy issues is a plus
