A law firm seeks an Innovation Attorney for its Santa Monica, CA office, with consideration for 100% remote locations within the United States. The role supports the firm's innovation efforts to enhance legal service delivery through people, process, and technology, focusing on the Strategic Advisory and Government Enforcement (SAGE) business unit. The position collaborates across various offices and departments, reporting to the Managing Director of Practice Innovation.

Duties

  • Lead projects to streamline and improve legal service delivery.
  • Develop best practices for resource allocation.
  • Drive digitalization efforts, including automation and data capture.
  • Support the firm's data strategy and track matter data.
  • Integrate technology, including generative AI, into legal practice.
  • Promote and train on generative AI use cases.
  • Design client-facing solutions to share data and insights.
  • Create and automate knowledge and precedent libraries.
  • Evaluate legal service delivery efficiency and identify improvements.
  • Educate legal professionals on technology and client solutions.
  • Develop case studies and innovation materials for business development.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and admission to practice in a US jurisdiction.
  • Minimum six years of experience in litigation, regulatory, transactional, or legislative policy in a large law firm.
  • Superior communication skills for presenting complex ideas.
  • Problem-solving skills with practical solutions for varied situations.
  • Familiarity with legal technology and AI opportunities.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
