Litigation Defense Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Defense Attorney for its Portland, OR office. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience in handling defense litigation cases independently and interacting directly with clients.

Duties

• Manage a variety of defense litigation cases including business litigation, construction law, and data breach response.
• Engage in hospitality and food-borne illness litigation, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability cases.
• Handle product liability, professional liability, real estate litigation, and toxic tort/asbestos litigation.
• Participate in transportation and trucking law matters.

Requirements

• Three or more years of relevant litigation experience.
• Strong drafting, writing, and researching skills.
• Excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in law firm and case management, including depositions, motions practice, and trials preferred.
• Membership in the Oregon State Bar required; Washington State Bar membership is a plus.
• School law or public entity defense experience is desired but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.
