Duties

  • Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the life sciences sector.
  • Advise clients on patent issues throughout the product lifecycle, including strategic consultation and portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, the USPTO, and foreign associates on patent prosecution matters.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and client service excellence.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a patent agent in biotechnology.
  • Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to biologics or large-molecule technologies.
  • Experience in conducting searches and analyses for freedom-to-operate, IP due diligence, and patent landscape assessments.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO in good standing.
  • Prior law firm experience preferred.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Education

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biological sciences, e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics.

Certifications

  • Registration to practice before the USPTO.
