Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney for their Family Law and Divorce Practice Area in Worcester, MA. The associate will support attorneys in all phases of client matters, from inception through discovery and trial. This full-time role offers a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three in-office days.

Duties

  • Draft documents and pleadings, including complaints, petitions, and agreements.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze discovery productions.
  • Analyze complex asset divisions.
  • Assist in litigation phases, including motions, depositions, and trials.
  • Communicate with clients and provide legal advice and updates.
  • Prepare clients for hearings and trials.
  • Research case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Negotiate agreements between parties.
  • Provide status updates to assigning attorneys.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of experience in Family Law and Divorce practice.
  • Strong academic background with a Juris Doctorate Degree.
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts; multiple state Bar admissions are a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Member of the Massachusetts Bar.
