Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Oil and Gas Attorney in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the legal intricacies within the oil and gas sector, including regulatory compliance, contracts, transactions, and litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile cases and provide strategic legal counsel to a diverse client base.

Duties

  • Provide expert legal advice on oil and gas matters, including exploration, production, leasing, and royalties.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to oil and gas operations.
  • Represent clients in oil and gas litigation, including disputes over mineral rights and lease agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions within the oil and gas industry.
  • Stay updated on regulations impacting the oil and gas industry and ensure client compliance.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to grow the firm's practice.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on oil and gas.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing the oil and gas industry in Texas.
  • Proven experience in oil and gas transactional work.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and commitment to client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Texas State Bar membership preferred; NM, ND a plus.
