A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled Litigation Associate with 2-5 years of experience in construction defect and personal injury defense. The ideal candidate will excel in handling complex legal matters, including expert depositions, motions practice, and case evaluations. This role requires strong analytical, advocacy, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Manage and execute all stages of litigation, including case evaluation, depositions, motions, and settlements.
  • Take expert depositions and draft complex legal documents, including motions and case evaluations.
  • Argue motions in court and provide legal strategies to clients.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective case strategies and ensure timely progression of matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing legal counsel and updates on case developments.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills in preparing legal briefs, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment, managing deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Work independently on client matters, while also being an active contributor to a team of attorneys.
  • Take initiative in handling cases and seek opportunities for professional development and improvement.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in litigation, specifically in construction defect and/or personal injury defense.
  • Experience in taking expert depositions, drafting complex legal documents, and arguing motions.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse caseload, meeting deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and action-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in Texas.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and research abilities.
  • Strong advocacy and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy caseload.
