Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join their team in Spokane, WA. The successful candidate will manage complex cases involving sexual assault, human trafficking, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death. They will work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and advocate for survivors using a trauma-informed approach.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload from intake through trial.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies.
  • Advocate for survivors with a client-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to build strong cases.
  • Conduct client meetings and prepare them for litigation stages.
  • Draft legal documents and conduct legal research.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions and trials.
  • Identify and work with expert witnesses.
  • Engage in mediation and settlement discussions.
  • Mentor junior staff and coordinate with team members.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in required jurisdiction(s).
  • 1+ years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in required jurisdiction(s).

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex cases.
