Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Law Attorney in Clearwater, FL. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex employment matters, providing both counseling and litigation services. Duties

  • Advise employers on federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance.
  • Represent employers in employment-related litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Manage litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions, participate in hearings, and assist with trial preparation.
  • Prepare position statements and respond to administrative charges.
  • Conduct workplace investigations on discrimination and harassment complaints.
  • Draft and review employee handbooks and workplace policies.
  • Assist with wage and hour compliance and litigation.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on employee relations and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with partners and communicate directly with clients.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Experience in employment litigation and counseling.
  • Knowledge of key state and federal employment laws.
  • Experience with administrative charges preferred.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.
