Job Overview

A law firm seeks a seasoned and highly motivated Business and Transactions Attorney to join its Sioux Falls, South Dakota office. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal counsel across various industries, focusing on business matters such as risk management, contract review, governance, mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, and compliance.

Duties

  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored legal strategies aligned with their business goals.
  • Research and interpret laws, regulations, and industry standards for client compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including contracts and employment agreements.
  • Advise on corporate legal matters, including entity selection, formation, and governance.
  • Provide guidance during mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactions.
  • Manage multiple client matters while maintaining high-quality service.
  • Supervise paralegals, staff, and team members as required.
  • Engage in business development and professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a business and transactional attorney; 10 years preferred.
  • Must be licensed in South Dakota or eligible for licensure.
  • Other state licenses considered.
  • Valid driver's license.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in South Dakota.
