Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Litigation Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and possess a strong desire to make a meaningful impact in personal injury law. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Duties

  • Manage personal injury cases from filing through resolution.
  • Conduct thorough case investigations to establish liability and assess damages.
  • Draft, file, and argue key litigation documents, including discovery motions and oppositions to motions for summary judgment.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal professionals to drive case strategy.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and guide them through each stage of their case.
  • Gain hands-on experience handling complex, high-value litigation matters.
  • Continuously develop litigation skills through mentorship from experienced attorneys.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Lawyer in good standing to practice law in the state.
  • 3+ years of personal injury experience with a focus on trial.
  • Minimum of 3+ civil jury trials to verdict.
  • Excellent knowledge of state laws, regulations, and legal procedures pertaining to personal injury cases.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of successful case management and client representation.
  • Experience in conducting legal research and preparing legal briefs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state.

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
