Job Overview:
A law firm based in Hollywood, FL, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its active appellate practice group. This role is ideal for a legal professional who excels in legal writing, oral advocacy, and litigation strategy. Duties:

  • Draft appellate briefs, motions, and supporting memoranda in state and federal courts

  • Conduct complex legal research on procedural and substantive issues

  • Provide litigation support, including dispositive motion practice and trial preparation

  • Deliver oral arguments before appellate courts as needed

  • Collaborate with trial teams to develop and preserve issues for appeal

  • Stay updated on developments in case law, statutes, and procedural rules

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in appellate litigation or civil trial support

  • Demonstrated expertise in legal research and persuasive writing

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Comfortable with high-volume caseloads and fast-paced deadlines

  • Prior courtroom experience in appellate oral arguments preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing with The Florida Bar

Skills:

  • Advanced legal writing and editing proficiency

  • Effective verbal advocacy and communication

  • Familiarity with Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
