Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney with over three years of experience to join their team in Liberty, Missouri. This position offers the opportunity to manage a docket of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents and wrongful death, while gaining significant hands-on litigation experience.

Duties

  • Manage a plaintiff personal injury docket from intake through settlement or trial.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and insurance coverage.
  • Draft demands, pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense counsel.
  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Prepare cases for trial when necessary.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, experts, and support staff to move cases forward.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Missouri Bar license required; Kansas Bar license preferred.
  • 3-7 years of personal injury or civil litigation experience.
  • Experience with motions practice, discovery, and depositions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing a caseload.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Missouri Bar license.
  • Kansas Bar license preferred.
