Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of law firm experience. While experience in criminal defense, personal injury, consumer protection, class actions, and/or business litigation is preferred, it is not required. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable courtroom experience and work closely with partners, paralegals, and support staff in handling all aspects of litigation.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide legal analysis.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings and contracts.
  • Manage a caseload independently, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Meet with clients to gather information and provide legal advice.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case management.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida state laws and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • 2-4 years prior experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal software and research tools.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
