Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney to join its Personal Injury practice in Eau Claire, WI. The role involves advocating for injured clients across the Midwest, with potential management opportunities. Candidates must be admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.

Duties

  • Manage a personal injury caseload, including auto accidents, dog bites, slip and fall, wrongful death, and other negligence-based claims.
  • Conduct initial client consultations and case evaluations.
  • Review and summarize case records, including insurance policies, medical records, and police reports.
  • Draft and proofread legal correspondence and demand letters.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare to take and defend depositions, including expert and lay witnesses.
  • Represent clients in mediation and court proceedings, including trial.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the legal process.
  • Collaborate with support staff to efficiently move cases forward.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical obligations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.
  • Ability to commute to meet clients as needed.
  • Previous experience in a professional office environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, manage and prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Client-focused with a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software; Clio experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.

Education

  • Doctorate (Required)

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
